Pretty easy, overall.
Course Overview:
Very easy to follow. Good Instructions.
Course highlights:
Easy to follow along. Homework helps with tests
Hours per week:
0-2 hours
Advice for students:
Do the homeworks. Pay attention in class.
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
Dr. Vandellen is clearly knowledgeable about statistics and psychology, but her teaching style is very strange. She attempts to teach statistics without using power points, but instead simply standing in front of the class and lecturing. She also gives no grades besides for 4 tests, so there is a lot riding on doing well on the exams.
Course highlights:
We mostly learned how to do statistical tests. Z tests, T tests, ANOVAS, Chi squared tests, multiple regression, etc... There is little discussion about practical application.
Hours per week:
0-2 hours
Advice for students:
Definitely go to every class and try to pay attention (it's hard because of the no powerpoints thing). Do the problem sets online and use the group she assigns you to, don't be shy to ask other people questions.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
Dr. Vandellen explains concepts thoroughly. Her method of teaching shows you the bare bones of statistics and builds your knowledge from the bottom up. She is helpful, kind, and genuinely wants you to succeed.
Course highlights:
I learned many statistical tests including t-test, z-test, ANOVA (one way & multiple), and chi square.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
Make sure you go the extra mile with the readings and practice problems.
