    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend Dr. Hubbard's Organic Chemistry II class because even though it was difficult, it was incredibly fascinating and the complex problem solving skills you develop are useful for any academic discipline.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this class are of course the reaction mechanisms, which are much more complicated than those taught in organic chemistry I. I love puzzles and critical thinking problems, so this course was great because instead of requiring you to memorize facts like a biology course, this course requires you to learn the principles that govern reactions, and then apply those principles to problems.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

It is very important to do all of the practice problems in the textbook, and to take detailed notes that explain the material in terms that you understand. It is also a very good idea to go to office hours and any review sessions offered in preparation for the exams.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Very challenging! But needed for med/vet school. Would not recommend taking unless you are planning to go into the healthcare field and need it for your degree!

    Course highlights:

    Useful in understanding molecular processes

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Start studying early! Do the practice problems. Sometimes the entire test will be those.
