    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Hili, while new to UGA, is an excellent instructor. He demonstrates passion and knowledge for this discipline and is more than happy to help his students excel.

    Course highlights:

This course helped me gain an intuitive sense for how organic molecules exist and interact in nature, which I believe is imperative to understanding the biological world.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Never get behind! Try your hardest to study every single day and work problems to help yourself understand the concepts.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class for a fuller understanding of chemical reactions and to provide a basis for biochemistry. This class truly challenges you, and is beneficial especially if you plan to further your education in a professional school.

    Course highlights:

This course taught me many organic reactions that are important in the body and important in manufacturing.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

The most important thing that helped me in this course was reading my text book. Without the text book, it is very difficult to fully grasp the material in lectures alone. I believe in order to succeed in this class it is also important to utilize tutoring resources, and to DO ALL THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS!!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

CHEM2212 isn't really as bad as people make it out to seem; sure it was a lot of line reactions to remember but they were pretty straightforward and the mechanisms were repetitive. Hubbard is honestly the best ochem teacher I had for organic chemistry!

    Course highlights:

Everything I learned in this class has really helped me in my upper level classes, especially biochemistry!

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Constant practice! Go over line reactions, redo mechanisms and do lots and lots of synthesis questions!! When in doubt, go to office hours - and don't fall behind. Definitely suggest making study groups that meet up at least once a week to get through problems that everyone is struggling with.
