    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class can be pretty challenging depending on your attendance as well as participation. Professor Zot is such a superb professor and I truly enjoy being in her class. Just be sure to study nightly and you'll pass!

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course would definitely be the quizzes. I learned so much about study habitats as well as the functions of a cell.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I would give is to not skip, because you'll definitely miss the fun lectures and form study groups. You can learn the information more efficiently and you would be making friends as well.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class. She gives example of things she teaches to make it easier to remember. She puts together study class when exams come around.

    Course highlights:

I learned much in this class. I learn that everything as a purpose in life. Like wolves in the Yellow Stone. I learned that we have a water crisis.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Printing the slides out ahead of time will help out a lot so that if you have questions you can ask before you leave the class. It also helps by not splitting your focus. Like trying to write and listen to.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Biology is a tough subject to learn and it takes a lot of memorization in comparison to the other sciences like chemistry and physics. These other courses are more about math and problem solving which for me is easier. Edelman isn't a teacher that thoroughly helps you understand the material but instead just goes through the notes. For a lot of people this method does not work effectively. If you do not do anything else, please go to the SI sessions they will save your life. Also for this class he gives a lot of reading assignments and quizzes that need to be taken based on the reading. It is easy to miss quizzes if you do not pay attention to the due dates or procrastinate (been there, done that). Also, attendance depends on the "clicker" which needs to be purchased by the third class session. If you do not have your clicker in order to answer the questions he puts up on the screen. Even if you talk to him after class he will not accept the fact that you did not have the clicker.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to obtain information in a different way instead of the method I am used to. I had to learn at a quicker pace as well as teach myself most of the material so that I could learn it. From this course we went more into depth than we did in high school and it was an interesting class to learn information that I did not know before. Also for this class you get to work in groups and help each other out. I was put in a group of people who did not want to do the work or help me out, so once again I was on my own. It was lovely. Not having anyone to help me, but there are SI sessions that helped me a lot and improved my test scores which was a plus.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Please, please, please go to the SI sessions. It will make your life so much easier and this course better. For my first two exams I decided I was not going to go to the SI sessions because I thought I would not need it but once I did go to the SI session my test score improved tremendously. Make sure to do the readings!!! They also help, read and take notes because they will come in handy. Also pay attention to the questions on the quizzes because they are always on the exams. I wrote down the questions and studied them and it helped a lot also. Pay attention in class, although he is a boring teacher and his lectures will probably make you fall asleep some of what he says in class will also be on the test as extra credit. Overall make sure you know the material before the class so that you can go into class prepared and ask questions for clarity before it is too late.
