    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course itself is fine, but avoid the teacher. He had his TA teach the class while he was out of the country for the first few weeks of class. By the time we met our instructor, Add/Drop was done and we were stuck with him. I'm sure for some students, he's fine, but he doesn't engage with his students at all and constantly cancels his office hours, and that's a problem for me.

    Course highlights:

I don't feel that I learned much in this class with this professor. I took it again with a different professor and made an A+, but I'm hard pressed to say what I learned from the course.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Take it with Dr. Valazquez. She's animated and fun, and she translates history into a story instead of a dry recitation of facts.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend this class AT ALL, the professor was so difficult and would not work with me because I am not an art major, I was not able to attend any of her tutoring sessions because it aligned with the art majors block schedule and I had classes during the times she offered, her quizzes were long and had no word banks or multiple choice so it was straight memorization of so many paintings. Also in class she went very fast and expected everyone to pick everything up right away and while the art majors did not she did not explain things so that non art majors could fully understand.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was getting out of it, and I learned that some professors are just mean and really do not care. I also learned a lot about paintings and such but I also cannot recall any of the knowledge because I never fully understood it. Overall, I was glad to be out of the class and not crying over it every day.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise taking heavy notes, asking questions always (even though she will not slow down and will look at you like you are insane) as well as studying very very heavily and every single day so you do not get overwhelmed with information.
