Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is very helpful for anyone that has interest in the biology. This is the basis of biology and this class will definitely help you determine if you truly have in interest in biology or if you can handle the work load.

    Course highlights:

I learned about different sugars and how they are used in the body. Also different cycles and systems such as cellular respiration and carbon cycle. We reviewed the periodic table and how to read it. We conducted several experiments throughout the semester to stress how certain reactions take place. Another focus we had was on DNA and RNA. We were taught how each go through replication very frequently. How cells are formed sexually and asexually. Active transport system and the other basis of biology.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to always make time to re over what was talked about in class. Never fall behind on coursework (i.e online quizzes and homework). Flash cards are very helpful. This best way to keep up making flashcards is to continuously make them as each chapter is being taught instead of waiting until the very end to make them and study them at the same time. If the professor allows you to record the lesson that is another tip for success, this way you can go back and listen to the lecture again and take down better notes. If recording is not allowed find the most efficient way to write down your notes whether that is with pen and pencil or electronically. Always read the chapter before the lecture. Remember it is very difficult to pass a class if you don't show to class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course be cause this course was fun and interesting. Also, the instructor was awesome and very helpful when students were struggling to understand course materials.

    Course highlights:

The best part of this course was the labs. Though some were length, the labs were intriguing and left students wanting to know more about particular subjects. The subject that was most appealing to me was learning more about DNA. In the lab, we used chemicals to separate the DNA from strawberries.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise that students read the chapters and ask question when you do not understand. Also, take advantage of the PASS Bio tutors. They are super helpful and help you to understand what you need to know for assignments and exams.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

My professor is one of the best science professors that I have had.She makes sure you understand the material and encourages us to take online quizzes and go to the tutoring classes to help us better understand the subject. She takes so much pride in her work and entertains the class to make sure everyone pays attention.

    Course highlights:

Learning all the details of genetics and how each generation can be determined by the parents, the structures of eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells and their functions, evolution, and cellular respiration and photosynthesis.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

this course needs a lot of studying. there is a lot of details in each subject. you need to remember the names of structures and be able to explain how they work. the class works in a fast pace so you need to be able to understand the material or you can easily get lost. this is not a class that you want to skip a day in because you will fall behind .
