    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend taking this course is the individual is majoring in social sciences, because it pushes you to retain the information instead of memorizing it.

    Course highlights:

I am taking this class online so the part that I really enjoy is the discussion forum. Everyone in your group chooses a topic and writes about it. Then other people in your group get to add their opinion. I think this is a great way to know what your group members value and how they see society. So far, I have learned that though our society is seen as a whole, it is a combination of different values and morals that create today's social norms.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I would give to a student thinking about taking this course is read everything. It's not good enough to just skim the chapter or watch a video. Make sure you know all the concepts and can apply them.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor uses videos to connect us with the material. They provide real world examples and allows us to see how we are seen through the sociological perspective. Great class!

    Course highlights:

The class discussions were the highlights. It did get pretty heated over certain topics but I learned how to accept others opinions respectively. Also I learned that social norms are more prevalent and there are many subcultures around the world.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Attend class and refer to the textbook! The exams are based on both of these material as well as class notes.
