Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class gives great insight to culture and human interaction, a study I believe is important for nearly every major. Dr. Kerry Chance is very intellectual and experience and helpful in office hours. Also the class is an easy A!

    Course highlights:

I learned many elements of culture and general humanity through the lens of ethnographic participant observation and many anthropologists. Some elements included witchcraft and the relation of our bodies to our spaces. It's material that you can't get out of any typical course.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take notes on the entire slideshow but highlight the key concepts because those are the questions on quizzes and exams. The assessments are very straightforward and don't necessarily require readings outside of class that she assigns because you go over them in class, but you can participate in discussion more if you at least skimmed the reading.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course gave cultural and social insight that I had never been introduced to before and the new professor, Dr. Chance, she was very well educated on the subject and passionate to broaden every student's cultural perspective.

    Course highlights:

This course highlighted social and cultural phenomena in other countries, especially South Africa, and introduced the general anthropological method of ethnographic participant observation. Dr. Chance also introduced us to withcraft in other societies compared to our Americanized idea of withcraft and incorporated many theories and ideas of human interaction with each other and their environments.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take ample notes in class. You can pass without reading every article but the articles are all discussed and come up on the quizzes and exams. However, these assessments are very straightforward and thr material always comes up multiple times in the lectures.
