Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

You learn by doing. Whatever you learn during lecture, you can immediately put into practice on your project. When your project is finished, your professor and classmates give you hands-on feedback by the end of the week. This leads to objective reflection of what you did and didn't do well. As a result, everyone develops a critical eye for the basics of Film.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to handle a professional camera used for film, how to edit footage through the Premiere Pro software, how to slice in music for the footage, how to collaborate with teammates, and how to give critical feedback to peers. I also received insight into specific, detailed storytelling, and the course reaffirmed that simple is best.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Collaborate. Be nice to your teammates and classmates, because you all need each other to complete the projects. Communicate. Take good rest before the day of shooting, because filmmaking is surprisingly hard work. Give constructive feedback. Be open to what the professor and your classmates bring into the classroom to show you, you will learn a lot.
