    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is a required one for Elementary Education Majors, but besides that it was a tough yet rewarding class. I believe it was more enjoyable because of the teacher, she was a tough cookie but nice and warm on the inside.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to apply math to real life situations. I learned how to discover how many degrees are in a shape, which was really cool. I refreshed my memory on PEMDAS. We learned how to find the missing length on a triangle. We always were doing crafts or work with our hands, which made class fun. We looked forward to seeing what classroom tools we would be using to learn.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Plan out at least 1-2 hours each day you have the class (3 times a week) for homework. I also needed to go to the math study center a few times a week if I didn't understand. Make sure you always have a straight edge (a ruler), a math compass, and a calculator. You will also need to but Geometer's Sketch Pad online (about $10 for a year, I believe).
