Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it helps you see what you are capable of. It pushes you out of your comfort box and molds you to something better.

    Course highlights:

Being in this class, the highlight of it was being pushed to do things I wasn't capable of. The most important lesson I learned in this class was to understand who I am and what I am able to due. I learned to manage my time and dedicate myself more. Learning about organic chemistry was also amazing because now I understood more of the organic reactions that occur in the natural world around me.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Although it may be difficult, do not give up. Most people taking this class want to go to a graduate school in a health work environment and I will only say that if you really want fulfill your dream, don't give up, be humble, if you need help seek it, and never be afraid to ask questions in your class, don't let your dream be destroyed by your fears.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I love organic chemistry far more than general chemistry. There are less elements to keep track of, though that doesn't mean it is easier. Whether you did well or poorly in inorganic chemistry has little bearing on how you will perform in this course. The course requires a strong ability of visualizing molecules in three dimensions, as well as a determination to study every day. This is not an easy course, and requires active work and participation. Sister Stowell is very good about providing resources for you to succeed, so much so that poor performance can only be blamed on the student's lack of effort.

    Course highlights:

Organic Chemistry focuses on molecules containing carbon, which are essentially the building blocks of life. You learn the basics of how pharmacists created medicines, learn why things react the way they do, as well as the complex, yet straight-forward (once mastered) naming system.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The material gets really difficult around chapters 4-6. If you can make it through that, however, everything else just builds off of it. The trick to this class is making sure you really understand each day's material before the next class. Set aside an hour in you schedule outside of class everyday to review what you are learning. Use the old exams and quizzes to test your knowledge. The ones she uses for the actual tests will be very similar to these. If you can do well on the practice exams, you will do well on the actual ones.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend her because she is very easy to approach and ask questions. She explains the questions in simple terms and you can learn a lot from her. Her class is very hard but very worth it.

    Course highlights:

I learned that I need to not only learn from the professor but that I need to teach myself from the book.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Study and get help from the tutors. The tutors help a ton.
