    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is a tough class, but useful for any major or profession. Using statistics and regression, Business Analytics creates a new perspective on various business's operations and production.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to forecast based on historical evidence and the importance of keeping records to use as reference material. I also learned that you should always expect the unexpected, especially in a fluctuating economy.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take really detailed notes. Also ask a LOT of questions. I found that speaking directly to my professor helped me understand the material much better than listening to lecture.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Not my favorite class of the business curriculum, but definitely gives you an appreciation for the people who do forecasting, data analysis, and excel work.

    Course highlights:

Vastly improved my knowledge of Excel and how the more computerized side of business and economics work. Make you actually think about the way your set up Excel problems and what goes on behind the scenes of the program.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice. Practice. Practice. You can't do well on the exams if you can't do the practice sets he assigns. Also, be prepared to refresh those STAT 251 skills of mean, median, mode, stand. dev, and such. Helps to have some basic Excel knowledge before hand.
