    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because the information is intriguing, useful, and more people should understand a lot of the valuable principles that humans have had since civilizations were created. This class is taught like a 400 level class which is a great thing because it can prepare people for higher level classes, but also isn't an easy 101 class to just take because it sounds easy.

    Course highlights:

The things that stayed with me the most was learning about religions and how they have deeply impacted the people all around the world. Also learning about the people that are remembered in history and why, seeing how one person doing one thing can impact the fate of a civilization or area is interesting to see.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the reading assignments, that is how you will pass the class. The quizzes are on the reading and that is how you actually learn the information. In class it is gone over again but the readings are more in depth and aren't that boring.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I highly reccomend this course for a few simple reasons. First is that it is a fairly low intensity class that focuses on teaching rather than piling on assignment after assignment and second is for the way Professor Spence teaches. It is a normal lecture class but he managed to captivate me with ancient history every day by presenting the material in such a unique way.

    Course highlights:

The very first day of class he basically said we knew nothing of history and went into detail about how we gathered the facts we know about ancient history and even went on to say that we are always one discovery away from changing everything we know about ancient people.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class and pay attention, he teaches a lot of material in an interesting way. There's also some life lessons you can learn from the course if you think about it.
