Not too easy. Not too difficult.
This course was very helpful with my degree. Since I am a music education major, I needed this course to proceed with my degree. If this was just an elective, however, I would not really recommend it. The teacher is fun but the class is lecture oriented. If you do not do well with a class that is all lectures and a couple tests, this is not the class for you. However, if you do well with those type of classes this is a good fit for you.
The highlights of this course for me was the world music Fridays. Practically every Friday we would have something called 'World Music Friday's'. On these days the professor would either bring someone in to discuss the music with us or he would bring in things he had received through his travels. The Ghana section of this part of the course was my favorite. He brought in certain types of drums and other instruments that he had brought back from there and would demonstrate how to play them in class.

Advice for students:
I would advise to think about your skills before taking this class. The only way to do well in this class is pay close attention and to take very good notes, not only about what is on the slides but what the professor is talking about. It is most important to know that this class takes a lot of writing and getting all the notes down before the professor switches topics. Make sure you stay on top of class. Also, when it comes to the tests it helped me a lot to go through my notes and highlight important information and the information said on the study guide. That way I could look through my notes and know what parts to focus on while studying. Last but not least, go to class. That is a very big part of your grade is just showing up.
