This class was tough.
I recommend it because it enhances students knowledge not only on African American history, but it gives students the opportunity to incorporate their ideas ,beliefs, and prior knowledge on the subject in to their work.
The highlights were that a lot of my beliefs were confirmed or better explained. I learned that this course touches every subject and that many successful African Americans who attended college majored or minored in this subject. For instance , I still can recite the names, occupations ,and stances of the panelist on the "Identity" assignment because I absorbed what I learned.

Advice for students:
Study as much as possible, even before class not only so that you will pass your tests but so when you are put on the spot in class , you will have confidence in your answer. Also, take a lot of notes and consider starting study sessions with your classmates.
