Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Lewis does a great job encouraging and teaching his students how to best prepare for a speech, and then preform. He gives everyone multiple reasons why their speech was good, plus encourages them on how they can improve next time.

    Course highlights:

Taking speech with Lewis has taught me confidence and how to effectively give a speech. You get to pick all of your speeches, within guidelines, so everything you talk about is based off of you. This created a better learning experience and more confidence.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

When you take this course, got at it with full propose and meaning. If you hold back it'll just be harder when you speak, and you won't feel as confident. Also pick good topics that you and your audience can easily relate to.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This course is a basic level speech class. You receive all of the required information, but do not delve into the exciting part of communication. It is a 101 level course and so it is only supposed to cover the introduction into speech, but I would have enjoyed it more had we gone more into detail.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course were the speech giving days. I learned how to prepare myself to give a speech and how to calm speaking anxiety. This has proven to be extremely helpful in my classes since.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not freak out if you have speech anxiety. Everyone has to take this class. You will get through it. Prepare thoroughly and have confidence and you will do just fine.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Intro to speech is a great class for everyone to take! It is a no-pressure, no judgement environment to practice one's communication skills.

    Course highlights:

I had a lot of fun being able to "judge" other people's speeches. It gave me a new perspective and helped me to improve my own.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

I took this course the same semester I took English 101. Not only did the level of writing help, but also, some of the things I learned in English corresponded with what I was learning in Communications, so there was reiteration, and I feel like I learned some things better that way.
