This class was tough.
It's the perfect course, assuming it's a requirement for your degree
It's meant to be an introductory course, but it assumes you've had at least some calculus. Probability is fun for me, so once I got acclimated to the fast pace of homework, it wasn't that bad. Just be ready to put in at least an hour for every hour you're in the classroom. Prof Showers is approachable, but at some point he's going to say "If you don't get it by now, you probably won't" - and if that describes you at that point, it's time to switch majors, because QM 263 will be all the harder next semester.

Advice for students:
Don't fall behind on homework. If you do, there's no catching up, and he's a tough teacher. This was the hardest class I took that semester, and so far it's only been superseded by QM 263 the next semester.
