    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The professor was very caring about her students succeeding. She exhibited characteristics of an ideal teacher as she selected interactive activities to help model what she taught and assessed students not for a grade but to really analyze her teaching to see how affective it was. After every class she had a "quiz" that we graded ourselves to see where clarification was needed and areas for improvement.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of the course was the final, in which we had to find a recent problem that was revelant to chemistry or biology and present it to the class in a PowerPoint format. The problem I presented was plastic waste in Chicagos effort to decrease plastic bags in landfills. As I mentioned earlier, the professor selected activities that helped with our understanding of the days lesson.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

There is a lot of content that is given in class, so printing the PowerPoint slides prior to class helps with writing the notes.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course allows students to "get a feel" of the basics in both chemistry and biology. It prepares science majors with basics on the equipment as well.

    Course highlights:

This class was great preparation for future science courses. There were fun and engaging labs every week and few that required students to leave the classroom and experience aspects of science in nature.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Mark when every exam takes place and study not only the topics for that exam but topics from previous lessons. Pay attention and take good notes, that is the key to succeeding in this course.
