    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is not easy, languages in general. And next to mandarin Arabic is a tough one! If in high school you got away with doing your homework 30 minutes before class, I promise you this will to be the case. You need to put in elbow grease, because before you know it, you will be behind and wonder why it is moving so fast. Because if I could go back and change something, would be practicing more outside of class. If you think it is easy, it escalates, quickly.

    Course highlights:

Learning the culture, because it is completely different than anything I have experienced. Although the culture is tough to understand I felt proud. I did something outside of my comfort zone and it completely shook my world upside down. I am not sure if I still would had done it knowing how much of a headache it was going to be, but I am dedicated now!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are looking for a language to lear for fun, either pick a new one if you will not commit to it, or make it your minor. Once you start working hard, you want this on your resume, because it is everything but easy. I have a love/hate relationship with this language, and it does not get easier.
