Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class helped me to understand the psychological state of children and adolescents in a way I didn't think possible.

    Course highlights:

This class covered the development of a child's mind, and how to properly integrate the different parts of the mind (left and right hemispheres, as well as higher and lower brain functions).

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared for a good deal of video lectures. I averaged 3+ hours a week just on those lectures. The reading isn't too awful, but when compared to LUO's other courses, this one took up a great deal of my week.

This is a very interesting course, and is quite helpful on the path to becoming a Christian counselor. It has fair weekly goals, and can easily be taken while working full time.

    Course highlights:

This class covered the basics of child counseling in a Christian clinic setting. It detailed the cognitive development of children and adolescents, and shared a wide variety of ways to counsel children with mental health issues.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are interested in counseling children in a Christian setting, then this is a wonderful introductory course. It is by no means an exhaustive study on Christian counseling for children, but it will give you a strong understandings of the basics of the field and how to proceed gaining more knowledge within it.
