    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is very interesting! However, I had already learned much of the content in high school Biology classes. This is a good course if you are looking for something that takes effort, but you don't want to be too overwhelmed.

    Course highlights:

I learned so much about the intricacies of the Human Body. We learned about the brain, the different body systems, bones and muscles, and more.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You absolutely NEED to come to class! I only missed two class periods during the semester, because I was sick. Though I got the notes from a friend, I really struggled to understand the content without the teacher's explanation. Dr. Spohn tests you on what he teaches you, not by the book, so you can't just rely on the book to catch up.

    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because Dr. Spohn is an amazing teacher. He is both hilarious and knowledgeable. I think that it is important for a lecture class to have entertaining elements to keep students engaged, and Dr. Spohn included that.

    Course highlights:

I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the human body. We first learned the basics about chemistry in order to understand what we were going to be learning. After chemistry we went on to cover the skeletal, muscular, immune, endocrine, reproductive, lymphatic, nervous, urinary, and digestive systems.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You must study!! There are only five graded assignments in the whole class, and those are the five tests worth 200 points each. Find a study group, and go over the notes that you take in class. I also looked up videos on YouTube to help me understand what I did not understand in class.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Spohn is an excellent teacher, and I would certainly recommend anyone required to take this class to take it with him. However, I have never liked biology as a subject (too much memorization of vocabulary for me), and this course did not change that.

    Course highlights:

I thought the first week was interesting, as it went over cellular biology. Later in the course, I also learned more about the human metabolism than I had ever known.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Come to class, pay attention, take good notes! I had trouble understanding the textbook, so it was essential to have good notes on the lectures. Also, prepare well for the exams, as they are your whole grade.
