    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend taking this course with another high reading volume course. Be sure to dedicate a lot of time to reading in this course. Reading and writing essays will be the main focus.

    Course highlights:

The main highlight of this course is analyzing short stories. It gave me a new perspective when analyzing other authored pieces of work.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

You would be in your best interest to check the course syllabus prior to registering. I would not recommend taking this course with another high volume reading course as well as courses that may have essays due in the same week.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course is very instructive on how to analyze literature, specifically short stories, poetry, and plays. I've learned a lot that I haven't in high school, because it is a detailed and thorough overview of the basics to know when studying literary elements. Overall, I would recommend this class.

I've learned a lot about literary devices, the subtleties of theme, and the simplicity and beauty of writing and words.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to read thoroughly, and check the form as well as content.
