    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course was very boring to me.

    Course highlights:

I slept most of the time because of the Professor. I think that the "pop quizzes" were unnecessary. The tests are worded differently.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

READ. IT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE. DO NOT RELY ON CLASS NOTES.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Although this course consisted of long lectures, Dr. Hindson made the lectures interesting through the way he told stories of the Bible. Dr. Hindson obviously knew what he was talking about and was able to explain everything thoroughly to make the material understandable. The material covered was interesting because it didn't cover only the familiar Bible stories most people hear as a child. The class enabled the students to learn background details about events in the Old Testament and dig deeper into the stories.

    Course highlights:

Like I previously mentioned, I was very engaged and interested in this course because it built up my knowledge about events I already knew about. Aside from that, I learned to see patterns throughout the Old Testament which built up similar themes that also connected to the New Testament. I never realized how much the New Testament reflected the Old Testament until participating in this course. I also never realized how great an amount of material from the Old Testament I could apply to my life until studying it in the course. Dr. Hindson helped reveal to us many life lessons that repeated in themes throughout the material covered in the semester.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this course, completing the reading assignments and studying for the 3 exams is required. The class included a reading quiz at the end of each class on assigned reading. The reading was usually not very long or difficult, but it had to be completed to succeed on the quizzes, which were not very hard if the reading was completed. Each exam was harder than the previous exam because a greater amount of material was covered each time and the material was not as familiar each time. To succeed on the exams the easiest way to study is to study the material as if it were a history course. Flashcards are a great way to study dates and people, but what also helped me was taking notes on my notes from class. It was an easy way to review and hit on smaller details I had forgotten about. Another helpful way of studying was to actually read the books of the Bible as I went through my notes. This helped hit on things that I had written down quickly and not clear in my notes. Overall, the course does not require a ton of work to succeed, but reading and studying is definitely required.
