Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is the ideal learning experience for anyone who aspires to enter into the world of law enforcement. The combined learning of both subject matter and real life application cannot be matched. This class was the first of its kind when I took it and it gained national recognition for its innovative class environment and assignments. This is the perfect, hands-on followup class to CJUS 410.

    Course highlights:

This class was written and taught by Professor Michael Milnor. Professor Milnor has years of experience as a detective and was able to convey his real life knowledge to the students in a hand-on manner. We conducted a full investigation of a closed 1986 case the professor had actually been the detective on. We had to run the investigation from start to finish including crime scene analysis and evidence collection, interpretation of lab results, forensics, interviews with suspects and others, and finally we had to present our entire case to the DA in the same manner we would have to in a professional environment. This class taught me more by allowing me to do real police work, than any book could.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Only take this course if you are willing to put in extra hours outside of class. However, if you are looking into law enforcement, there is no better course out there.
