Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to any student interested in learning about various cultures in visual art forms. You'll learn how to read art from an objective point of view, read the context on art, understand the meaning or message of the content, learn how to analyze art work appropriately, and be able have a critical point-of-view about various art work.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was gaining knowledge about various cultures and learning to identify and interpret the five step system of art work. Prior to taking Art 101, I viewed art as being none other than paintings and sculptures. At the completion of this course, I had a better understanding about its importance and the role it played in telling stories that occurred in past history.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To be successful in Art 101, I would recommend all students to read the textbook provided, view and follow Professor Olga Nosova's syllabus as presented. Also, try to attend a local art museum, not only for a grade but for the learning experience. I found Art 101 and my visit to the art museum very informative.
