Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

There is not a single occupation in the world that will not require you to speak in front of others in some way shape or form. CST 100 teaches both the theories behind effective public speaking, it gives students a forum to practice and sharpen their speaking skills.

    Course highlights:

I don't think anyone really goes into public speaking thinking they're going to have a great time. Most people are shy presenting in front of others, myself included. However, I learned effective tactics to conquer my stage fright and how to make my nerves work for me. I learned how to cater my speaking style to the audience and situation by delivering a variety of different speech types.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It's absolutely okay to be nervous! Come in with an open mind and be receptive to constructive criticism.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The teacher is absolutely fantastic! He bonded the class and the whole semester became emotional; it was always a pleasure to be within the class room.

    Course highlights:

I learned to better prepare myself for public speaking and how to really affect my audience with what I say; though from this class I pick up on little flaws from other students when they have presentations such as the"ums" and "likes".

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be excited! Don't be scared to tell your story and reach out to other classmates.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course really helped me gain confidence in a classroom setting. The professor also enhanced the class. He makes it enjoyable by being entertaining and also serving as an example of how to be confident when speaking to others.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course were after you finished speaking to the class. When you have to prepare your speech or presentation, you aren't really that nervous. You practice your speech/presentation telling yourself that you will be fine when you are presenting. Once you step in front of the class however, you become a nervous wreck. The highlight for me was when I pushed myself to present and I succeed in presenting my topic thoroughly. Once you are done, the feeling of relief and the A that you get for presenting make the previous feelings you had worth it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you keep up with your work. There are a coupe of online assignments that are easy to forget to do because you are focused on preparing your speeches.
