    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is very educational on the aspects of diagnosing a patient with a potential mental health issue or helping someone who has come to you for help with addiction issues. It explains how different cultures handle different situations and how most cultures have different belief systems when it comes to getting help from someone on the outside.

    Course highlights:

Be thorough when completing research. The more you research the more you will lean about the way different cultures belief systems are in regards to asking for treatment or help from someone they do not know. It is very interesting to learn that different cultures and different age groups require a different type of initial interview in order to determine which direction one should take when helping that person. Also, it is really beneficial to interact with all of your peers and the professor because every one has a different opinion and a different way of observing things and it is amazing to put it all together to come up with a solution.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be sure to complete all assignments by doing as much research as you can and by all means interact with all peers and the professor so that you can get different views from different people and cultures throughout the classroom.
