Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Intro to Psychology is an extremely interesting course for anyone -no matter what their major is! However, I would recommend that if a student is thinking about taking this class that they make sure they keep up with their reading assignments, take notes in class, and review those notes daily so that the information stays with them. One of the unfortunate aspects of this class is that the reading load is very large and it can become hard to not fall behind on the reading. Because of this fact, I would recommend holding off on this class if you're already taking a large number of credits and your other classes have a lot of busy work because, you may not have enough time to complete the reading assignments for this class. I would still highly recommend that every student take Intro to Psychology at some point in their college career, better earlier than later too.

    Course highlights:

Intro to Psychology was a very interesting course because it taught me new ways to look at and understand humans and what makes us who we are. I learned about how people are effected by drugs, family and friends, childhood, upbringing, stress, disabilities, and many other ways in which we as humans are either negatively or positively impacted by circumstances. These circumstances can be split into two groups: circumstances which we can control (the friends we choose for ourselves, taking or abstaining from drugs, etc.) and circumstances which we cannot control (birth defect, parents, etc.). Intro to Psychology taught me about how the brain works and the different mindsets we have which opened my mind and stretch my brain in new ways.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay on top of the reading, take notes and review them and do not miss the homework assignments because those add up to your grade!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class gave me much to think about. I went into this class thinking I knew everything I needed to know to do well, I was very wrong. Mrs. Plank teaches this class extremely well! She helps you understand the content that she is covering as she goes and if you have any questions she is more than happy to help you any way that she can.

    Course highlights:

The knowledge I got from this class helped me learn that I had a lot of growing to do and how to help and understand the pain others go through and were this pain stems from both physically, meaning where it comes from in the body, as well as emotionally and socially. I will always be grateful for this class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

When taking notes make sure to write down everything that is said and on the PowerPoints. Be prepared before class and be slightly early if you want to be on her good side. Communication is the key if you don't understand ask the question don't be afraid.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I love Mrs. Plank. She is very thorough with her explanations. She makes understanding psychology so easy. I passed her class with style and grace. If you do the study guides and take good notes, passing is going to be a breeze. It is a little hard to get used to because she sounds like Dory from Finding Nemo.

    Course highlights:

I gained knowledge about feelings and where they come from. I learned that everyone is wired differently. So many people are alike, but yet so different. We watched this movie that completely changed my life. It put a lot of the psychological terms into play.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

This class is not easy. Do not take this class, because you think you'll automatically pass. You have to be engaged and participate.
