Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it. Professor Black was thorough in her explanations of most concepts. For example, I have studied grammar for a few years, but the rules never stuck with me. But when Professor Black taught each component of grammar one-by-one and then made sure everyone understood it, I finally understood everything previous teachers tried to teach.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was the grammar and the advancement of writing skills. As mentioned above, my knowledge of grammar and how to apply it expanded tremendously. Professor Black had her students write a reflection of the past weekend without using forms of "be". The assignment was intimidating, but we all did it. I can say that the sophistication level of my writing greatly increased with the assignments and lessons.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed, students need to allocate time for completing assignments. Completing assignments in intervals leading up to the due date will help a lot. There are quite a few reading assignments. I recommend reading these with intention and critical thinking.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course helped me learn so much more about research writing and writing in general. My weakness in writing was anything research related and this course helped me improve.

    Course highlights:

I really enjoyed literary analysis. This part of the course really made me think and dig deeper when it came to analyzing works.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate. Take the time to work on your assignments with time to make sure you don't get overwhelmed.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course taught me a lot about writing, and citing sources, as well as guide questions to help keep your writing focused on a specific topic. To be honest I still have a lot to learn, but Mrs Baker was very encouraging and gave a lot of good advice. The one thing I would have done differently is I would have read ahead more. I was always trying to catch up on my reading.

    Course highlights:

The course was focused on writing essays. I learned that I still need some work on this. I did learn a lot, and I gained some confidence in some areas, but I still need practice in elaborating on a subject. I am pretty good with the summary.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Try to get an early start on the reading, and make sure your internet connection is reliable. We had some problems with ours and a couple of my assignments were late as a result, and not as well written as they could have been.
