    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you are prepared for weekly reading, quizzes, discussions, and a challenge then this class is for you. The teacher is a hard one but keep up with the reading and remember to ask questions and you'll be fine. The teacher is actually a nice person despite being a hard one. One of her best qualities is that she gives you a lot of feedback and good advice for how to take notes, plan, and write essays.

    Course highlights:

The class environment is fun and friendly which is a highlight of this course. I learned a lot about American film history, from inventors to directors to actors. Another highlight is watching films relating to the readings but are also fun; as they are often older films you may have heard of but never seen.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

For the love of everything do the readings and take notes both while reading and during class discussions. Otherwise you will fail the quizzes and the quizzes are a big part of the overall class grade. Also make sure to ask questions, the teacher gives great tips and advice for how to take notes, plan, and write your essay. Lastly, as long as you study information on the study guides you'll do fine on the tests.
