This class was tough.
It was a wonderful class that taught me so much but is highly demanding. It requires constant review and nonstop engagement because of the shear size of the lecture material. It really pushed me and I came to appreciate that.
This course could've been called "connecting the evolutionary tree of life". We learned about the diversity of living organisms that exist and how they all relate to each other both in a macroscopic sense connecting bacteria to plants and plants to animals and also in a microscopic sense connecting the cells fungi to those of water molds. Though on another level, this course taught me how to synthesize large amounts of seemingly unrelated information and bringing it all together. It taught me how to think critically in novel ways.

Advice for students:
Don't underestimate the amount of time you should spend with this material. It's organismal diversity and there are an infinite number of organisms in the world. Be prepared to learn a lot and more importantly care enough to take away as much from the class as possible.
