I would definitely recommend this course not only for those interested in a career in marketing but for all those completing their MBA at Eastern. He not only takes you through the information in the book but has created a semester long project preparing you for real world marketing situations. In the class you are assigned a group and you spend the semester creating a marketing plan top to bottom for a company in a field of your choice. We chose a coffee shop serving the Champaign area focusing on U of I students. You do everything from choosing a competitor to handing out surveys gathering information on what attributes your customers find most attractive
The clear highlight of this course is the project as it gives you the necessary real world experiences. It gave me a whole new understanding for marketing and got me interested in a subject I had never before had one in.

Advice for students:
To make sure you keep up on group work in the project and that you dont wait to start the project until the end of the semester. It is manageable if you work on it throughout the semester but would be overwhelming if you waited.
