Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

As a required class, it is very beneficial to students pursuing a career in fashion. It's helps expand your creativity and knowledge. Taking this class helped inspire me more to create clothing.

    Course highlights:

The best thing of this course was seeing how much you can learn in a short amount of time. I was amazed that I started out the quarter with very little knowledge of draping and getting to see how every week I was given so much experience and knowledge.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up consistently with your work throughout the quarter, not procrastinating. It was also very beneficial to take as many notes as I could during the teacher lectures. Using notes and studying my book I was able to work on assignments without too much trouble.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is very important for any fashion design major. It is the fundamental of technical designing and a skill that is sought out in indistry jobs. FIDM offers this course with great results. It is detail oriented and succeeds in training the students to the best capacity.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was the creativity that can be implemented into your designs. I learnt that draping is like sculpting fabric and once the skill has been picked up, it gives you an advantage over so many other designers.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

This course is not an easy one. It takes precision, patience, hard work and focus. Every project must be paid attention to. While it is not easy it only gets better with practice until you find that you are great at it.
