    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Although the course is difficult the professor is amazing at actually helping you learn and understand the material for the future.

    Course highlights:

I learned the basics of financial accounting such as debits and credits, the accounting cycle, and the types of financial statements.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take notes in class. ALWAYS do the homework assignments she gives. They are not always graded but she will go over the questions and answers in class. If she see's that no one did the homework she will give a pop quiz. Be prepared for a pop quiz about once a week. Don't be afraid to ask questions, she will go slower and break it down step by step for you.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class was great! Dr. Hayes is an amazing professor, one who really cares about students and their success. She is tough, but she does it to help you grow and succeed. I rated the class as tough, only because it was the first class in college that really forced me to study and work hard to earn my grade.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about myself and my studying habits from this course. I'm glad I learned it in this course, because it prepared me for some of my classes later in college that had the same expectations.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study every day. Read your textbook, and don't be afraid to reach out to Dr. Hayes, AFTER you have put some effort in! Show her that you have been trying, and she's more than willing to help you out. Also, you and your class are a team. Share study tips and helpful websites or things that helped you understand concepts.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because this was the first professor that I ever had that made sure her students studied and understand the material thoroughly . Dr. Hayes was probably the best teacher I have had in a difficult subject. Financial Accounting is one of the 6 accounting course I have to take for my major and Dr. Hayes made is very easy to understand. She made sure that her students studied by giving pop quizzes about bi-weekly. This accounting course taught be the basic principles of accounting and I would recommend that any business major or minor take financial accounting.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the final project. For the final project my group and I had to pretend that we a employers for a company that was teaching an accounting workshop to a group of students that know nothing about accounting. My group and I created an imitation company and brought the students through the entire accounting cycle through 20 fictions transactions. This project helped to refresh my memory on everything that I learned throughout the entire semester.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell any students considering this course that you must be wiling to put in the work. You must ask questions if you do not understand and study the topics after every lesson learned in order to grasp the concept. In this course practice and memorization makes perfect!
