Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Walker was one of the most insightful, witty, and real professors that I have had. He is compassionate towards his students but very serious about his work and I admire that. He cares about the work he is doing and makes sure that we are learning so that we can recall the information and not just know it for the test and forget about it. He is truly one of the best professors I have had.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were discussing "The Black Presidency" in class and being able to expand the way that I view others opinions and being able to form my own. I learned a lot about the way that I write and was able to see the growth in my communication and writing skills.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I have for a student considering this class is to get ready to have the way you think about things challenged and questioned. Do not shy away from asking questions or showing up for office hours. Be prepared to have your mind changed about certain topics. Make Sure that you are ready when you come to class and that you have done your readings before the next class. Get ready to laugh, be up for a challenge, and take away life lessons that you will keep with you forever.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because I was taught a lot of things that I did not know in this class. Professor Whytus really helped me be a better person at writing papers and knowing the correct to approach writing a paper. She was an overall great teacher and motivated me to care about english more. She helped me realize how important english is.

    Course highlights:

I learned that having a Professor that just gives you a lot of english related work does not always help you to know how to write a paper. Writing a paper takes steps and Professor Whytus helped me achieve that. The highlight of this course was receiving an A in her class because of the huge end of the year paper we had to do. That paper really increased the way I type other papers for other classes. As a professor she helped each and every student to become better at typing up a paper and making sure that thesis statement was always correct. I appreciated her a lot.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I would give to a student is to just pay attention, listen, and take notes. If you just listen to what she has to say and do the work that is given you can receive an A. Don't be scared to ask for help because most of the time she does offer to help her students.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This course gives you the proper tools to evaluate situations and make an impact. Professor Buchanan truly wanted the best for her students and made us all realize that we are more powerful than we think , and that our talents together can change and untie the world rather than divide.

    Course highlights:

In this course I learned how to become a better writer but also to become a critical thinker. I gained the skill of observing situations in a deeper way than I have before. I also learned how to persuade an audience and get my points across in order to advocate for issues I saw in the community.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

You get out what you put in. You can learn a lot through this course but you have to engage and be open to new ideas and opinions. As long as you try to put your ideas and opinions out in group discussions, you will be sure to get at least a B average.
