    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I believe this course is key to begin understand the world of business, but I did not care for how it was set up, necessarily. The first day of the semester we were put into groups, little did we know we would do numerous assignments with this group for the rest of the year. I understand and support the reasons behind group work, but being the only person in a group of four that actually applied herself and put in the work, my grade suffered. With a full load of classes, I felt helpless, doing the work of four people along with the studying for my other classes. My teacher lectured the material extremely well and the information came fairly easy, but the group work was problematic.

    Course highlights:

The main and final project of this course involved making a business plan for a business your group created. I find I learn best when I am given the chance to apply concepts. This project gave me the perfect opportunity to do that. I went from being able to define a promotional plan to understanding how to go about making one successfully. Not only was this a great learning experience, but strategy I can implement in the future.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would highly suggest meeting with the teacher's assistant or the professor whenever you are getting ready to submit a paper, because there are many requirements and expectations not included in the rubric. Furthermore, the professors are harsh when it comes to grading and they want all assignments to be close to perfect, so starting papers ahead of time is extremely helpful. I would also highly suggest reading the textbook and taking notes before each lecture. This is due to the fact more information is covered during class and it is helpful to only have to focus on the new information. This class is not a blow off class!
