Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Abnormal Psychology explains mental health disorders, how to recognize the signs and symptoms, how to use diagnostic resources to accurately diagnose the illness, and explores treatment options for those disorders as well as case managment services to aid in being able to be an active member of society despite their condition.

    Course highlights:

From this course, I gained a better understanding of different mood disorders that are not covered in quite as much detail in your general psychology courses. This course was specific to those disorders that would cause behavioral patterns that are more noticeable and are deemed to be abnormal by society.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the material. Do your own research on each disorder and any diagnostic or treatment methods. Become familiar with the signs, symptoms, diagnoses, treatments, and programs. Make sure you know what you are studying.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

While the course may seem intimidating, it is actually fun and very informative.

    Course highlights:

The unit 6 group project was the best. It is a review of a popular movie with a mentally ill character. I learned that 8 people can watch the same movie, but see totally different things.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go into it with an open mind. It is not as hard as it may seem. Give yourself plenty of time for the reading.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because you actually learn a lot about mental disorders. This class is really helpful for anyone who is going into the criminal justice field. Learning about the different disorders will help people understand them when they have an encounter with someone who is mentally ill.

    Course highlights:

In this course, I learned about the different types of mental disorders that I may face while in the field. Learning about the disorders will be beneficial when it comes to trying to help a person who is in a crisis or who is in need of help. Knowing what you are dealing with will make it easier to solve the problem.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go in with an opened mind. Learn as much as you can because it gets easier after a few weeks in this class.
