This class was tough.
Albizati is a great professor who really works hard to make sure you understand what is necessary. He along with burkhart are the best professors to take if you want to actually learn about Ochem.
Many medicines we use today we first produced by bacteria or fungus found in soil. A lot of organic chemistry is about the techniques and processes used to try and synthesize those materials so that we won't need to rely on the slower natural processes to obtain them.

Advice for students:
It's hard to get a handle of Ochem at first but in the end it's really not super obtuse. Pay attention in class because the professors like to put in little things that will turn up on the tests and make sure you don't take too many difficult or time consuming classes while doing Ochem.
