    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

GO TO OFFICE HOURS! It will be super helpful. Ternansky is a difficult professor but he pushes you to try your best. He pushes you to think logically and not memorize. You need to put work into this course but if you do, the rest of the organic chemistry sequence will be a breeze. Don't be intimidated by him!

    Course highlights:

How to think logically and problem solve.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to office hours and do plenty of practice problems.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Ternansky has a bad reputation on campus, but ultimately it is up to you as a student to get to know him and attend his office hours. Organic chemistry is not a skill you can learn on your own. It takes much practice, asking as many questions as you may have, and studying thoroughly throughout the week.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about how reactions occur, why they occur, and how things work in the physical world of chemistry. You learn about mechanisms between compounds, chirality, and review concepts from general chemistry.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

I would not take this class if you are not prepared to devote your life to it. It takes a lot of work and time but also strength and devotion. It can be detouring for students especially if you are pre-med, but if you can get through this class, you can get through just about anything.
