Pretty easy, overall.
Professor Alvarez is very passionate about Chicano History! Like me, he is half Chicano and half White, so I found his class very relatable. His lectures will keep you awake, no snoozing will occur.
The highlight of the course for me was a particular lecture where we just had an open discussion for the whole class to participate in. A lot of people had great ideas and it was super interesting.

Advice for students:
Bring your laptop for lecture. There aren't any podcasts and he talks pretty fast so things will go a lot smoother if you can type everything really fast. Also, study for the final/midterm with a friend or a group. It helped me a lot to have people to bounce ideas off of.
