    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This is a great introduction to Public Health, particularly for 1st and 2nd year students. I took this course as a senior to fulfill the requirements of the newly introduced major and felt there was a great deal of busy work.

    Course highlights:

I gained my first real exposure to Public Health, and a great deal about behaviors that can influence health outcomes. I learned about social determinants of health and this really created the foundation for the other public health courses in the program.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

For students who are required to take the course, I would say don't underestimate it as an "easy" course because while it is content wise very easy, there are many assignments and class activities that factor into your grade that you have to stay on top of. For students just interested in Public Health, I would highly recommend taking FPM 50 instead, because there many guest lecturers and I think you learn more about medicine and public health from different professions.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I think it is not a fun class and it not representative of what I want to do with Public Health.

    Course highlights:

It is an introduction class about Public Health. I learned about transmission of diseases and how to prevent it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would definitely take this class but I would want to take more if you are considering Public Health. Upper division classes are more fun.
