    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Professor Johnson genuinely wants every student to pass and excel and does so by offering so many opportunities to not only excel but also fail. She understands that many students much like myself have no idea how much work must be put into college courses. She makes it so that bombing a quiz or midterm won't ruin your chances for that A. She offers so many chances to learn by uploading podcast and suggesting optional problems that are often times put word for word on quizzes or exams. Her clicker questions offer incentive to not only attend class but also a way to replace a not so desirable quiz score with a perfect score given that you answer 80% of her clicker questions. Her lectures are interesting but also teaches you the materials you need to know. While she is an amazing teacher, attending lecture will only get you so far in the course.

    Course highlights:

I've learned more than just chemistry in this course. Professor Johnson has taught me how to study, a skill that I haven't learned in high school. While her class is hard, it will provide the necessary foundation for the rest of the chem 6 series and other chemistry classes in the future.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to lecture. Do your sapling. Do the book homework. STUDY STUDY STUDYYY

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you are considering chemistry or going into Pre-Med, you will be required to take Chem 6A. Before taking the course I wasn't as interested in chemistry. However, Professor Brydges made the lectures fun and was very hands on. She made us work together during clicker questions and had many interesting experiments. She does want her students to succeed and always had office hours after lecture.

    Course highlights:

I learned the basics of chemistry, from learning stoichiometry, to creating hybrid molecules and atoms. The class was an intro and helped me learn up into Organic chemistry. This course focused on why we should learn about chemistry as well as why chemistry is important in our daily lives.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice to other students getting ready to take this course is to study before lectures and always talk to your professor if you don't understand something the first time! Also, do read the book before lectures to have an understanding about what is going to be talked about in class. Go to discussions and even create a study group! Go outside from just reading the book and doing the homework/lecture slides, search up videos and examples so you can understand the objective of the topic being learned.
