    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it goes over the need to know basics of chemistry. It is the foundation for which all of the other chemistry classes are built upon.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of the class was the lab aspect. One thing you must know is that the further you go in the class, the harder the labs get. On a brighter note, you do get to wear a professional lab coat and see some cool chemical reactions. In this course you learn the importance of quality notes and study time, because you definitely will need both to be able to pass.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study! It is essential. The professor gives a lot of information that you need not only to pass the class, but future chemistry classes as well. A study group amongst friends also works wonders. This way you can split up the work and help each other out. Lastly, take advantage of your TA being there. Their entire job is to assist, let them!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this class, especially for those who need a quick refresher when it comes to chemistry. Without a doubt, college chemistry is much more difficult than what they teach you in high school so this is definitely a great transition class.

    Course highlights:

The professor went over a lot of the material that they taught in high school AP chemistry but in much greater detail. He also covered many of the topics that would be later introduced in the general chemistry and upper division chemistry courses as well.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Brush up on some common chemistry knowledge before enrolling. It is a somewhat difficult class so some background knowledge is definitely important.

The basics he covers helps with further study in chemistry. He is also very passionate about teaching and really pushes his students to learn.

    Course highlights:

The labs are very educational and play a major part of the class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The workload might seem overwhelming at first, but it is there for a reason.
