Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I absolutely enjoyed the class. The professor taught through discussion so it made the learning experience engaging. The small class size allowed for the students to get to know each other and bond closely. Overall, the class was amazing.

    Course highlights:

The teacher was very engaging. Additionally, there was not an overwhelming amount of assignments. I learned a lot about how understanding language can help us analyze pieces of academic works and how they can be related to real life issues.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention in class. Do all the reading assignments. Do not procrastinate the final essay until the last minute. Other than that, just enjoy the class and have fun.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

a dual credit class for 161 and hum 101, as long as you receive an A or a B. it is also a freshmen oriented class to help you adjust t college life at UIC. You will read a variety of texts, watch clips, and end with a final project about something meaningful in your life. Be prepared to write.

    Course highlights:

Solheim is a wonderful teacher who care about her students and is an expert in the field of study. You will improve your writing skills drastically, along with participation and question asking skills. You will also learn a lot about both humanities and other world cultures.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I rated the class as tough, only because slacking off or putting in minimal effort will not yield a good grade. Be prepared to work hard on your papers and most likely revise them after they have been handed back. Meet with her to discuss your papers or any other concern/issues, utilizing her office hours is important and beneficial. Try not to miss class and overall, work hard.
