Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend the course because Saxena is a hard teacher, but he thoroughly explains things and wants his students to do well. He has quirky things to him which makes class enjoyable. For the class, as long as you study ahead in advance and come to class, you will do successful.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about cancer. I also learned skills that can be applied to other classes, not just Cell Biology. There is a lot of information about signaling pathways, but this helps us understand cancer.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed, attend class. Listen and take good notes during class because what is said in class is what is on the tests. However, if you do not understand something, ask questions. Saxon is very open and encourages students to ask questions.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is very interesting and is definitely a stepping stone when it comes to Biology in general. You learn about different signaling pathways and cells and how it all is part of a big picture.

    Course highlights:

I learned about signaling pathways and about cells in more depth when it comes to interactions and signals and different receptors and proteins that all play roles in cell biology. Amongst many other things of course.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

It is a challenging course that requires you to definitely keep up with the material in a sense that you must take notes and not miss class. Just looking at lecture slides will not suffice to get you a good grade on exams. You must make sure you go over your notes every week or if the lectures are recorded, go back and listen to them. Note cards can help, but honestly there is a lot of material to go over for every exam.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor is great! He is very open minded and approachable, he will always answer your question and help you understand it. He is also very fun and creative at his way of teaching. The course itself is not too hard as long as you study regularly.

    Course highlights:

Many important things for cells. Most of them were just basic knowledge about cells. We learned about cancer and what are new possibilities for treating it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Very interesting and essential for all biology related students. Very research oriented.
