    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I took this course before the semester before. I had Daesung Lee and, respectfully, he was awful. Compared to my last professor, Barnard is a saint. He provides great slides with good explanations rather than just pictures that no one can understand. His communication with his students is really good. He responds to emails frequently and makes great announcements on blackboard.

    Course highlights:

The great thing about this course is that there are preset curves. It is universally known that this is a difficult course and the grading is changed accordingly. Another great thing is that since this is a popular course, there are a lot of great resources online that help with tough topics.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The great thing and also maybe the bad thing is that the book is your main source. The best way to grasp the concepts is to literally read the chapter all the way through. There are no shortcuts to this (I have tried). The textbook is very good because it has detailed explanations to the practice problems.
