Professor Gibbons is very down to earth and relatable. She makes the course interesting and relevant to the real world. Her exams are tough but fair, and with proper preparation you can get an A.
Each semester Professor Gibbons requires the students to do a service project related to microbio. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community in a way that suits your interests and boost those volunteer hours! Advice for students:
She gives you the essay questions on the exams before hand. Be sure to answer these well and then memorize what you wrote. You won't have time to think up a whole essay AND answer all the multiple choice. This necessitates a lot of outside preparation but if you're willing to do it you can do really well in this course!
