    Course Overview:

    Public Health Research Methods is a comprehensive collection of research methods used in the field of public health. This course is about providing researchers, and future researchers, with an up-to-date and comprehensive set of tools to investigate public health issues and problems, to ultimately better inform public health policy and practice.

    Course highlights:

    Identifying the types of research questions and designs appropriate for studies in public health. 2. Demonstrating knowledge of key concepts with sample selection and measurement. 3. Demonstrating competence in constructing and thinking through basic analysis of surveys and semi-structured interviews. 4. Demonstrating competence in conducting and analyzing focus groups. 5. Evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of methods used in various research studies. 6. Describing methods for designing research projects related to specific public health problems.

    3-5 hours

    Get involved! Clubs, seminars, grand rounds, anything you can do to meet your peers and network with different faculty. Make sure your professors and department leaders know you, your interests, and career aspirations so they can help you reach your goals.

    THIS COURSE WAS AWESOME IN THAT IT TAUGHT US HOW TO TAKE THE STEPS IN LEARNING TO BE BETTER RESEARCHERS IN THE FIELD OF PUBLIC HEALTH

    Great course to take if you are majoring in Public Health

    I learned a ton about research methods in the Public Health forum. The course provided a wealth of information that one wouldn't find on their own.
