    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Understanding were you are financially, and where you could be is very important. Making informed decisions about your financial future can help one become stable, able to make informed decisions. I wish I had the opportunity to have taken a finance class while in high school I believe I would of been able to have prepared my future better.

    Course highlights:

Starting to learn and understand my finances at forty -four was a shock. Starting over financially at this age was scary. Going back to college and taking a finance class has shown me that I should have started saving for retirement at least ten years ago. Not knowing, not preparing for a future, is what I did. Personal finance is showing my tools I need to start saving, how to save how to pay my tax's and what I need to do if I ever want to buy a home. Knowing that I can balance my checkbook, I can make a budget and stick to it is the biggest accomplishment I received from this class. That and the knowledge that I can be financially responsible.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Take this class, you will feel more confidant about your future. Knowing where you are and where you could be and how to get there is empowering. It is essential to have the tools to make your future brighter. Study hard, give yourself the tools you need to study, be persistent and have the courage to want more.
