Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is a very useful course no matter what field you go into. Good communication skills is key to education and careers. If you just stay organized and get your work done early then you will be able to push on right through this class. Standing up in front of people talking can make anyone nervous, but use that as a tool to make your speech more exciting.

    Course highlights:

I have learned that practice makes perfect. I have never had to revise as much as i have in this class, but it has made me a better speaker and writer today. It was a blast being able to use props during the speeches.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Flashcards worked the best in this course for me and having a person to practice with that fully supports you.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course allowed me to not only practice my speaking skills, as all communication courses do, but to learn the best way to present my thoughts. It was a great mix of fun and serious that only Dr. Wright can have in the class room.

    Course highlights:

I found that the impromptu speeches were the best. The speaker had one minute to think about the prompt he/she pulled from a hat. It allowed for people to really think on their feet because a lot of questions that are asked after presentations require that skill.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say to make sure you practice your speech on another person. It is great to have your speech memorized, but having someone there to critique how you present is essential. Also, make sure to have fun with it. With Dr. Wright, class never felt like a class because I made sure to have fun with the material.
